Congratulation to UNITED U16 boys for winning their League!

Travel teams participated in NB Memorial Parade.  The turnout could have been better but a lot of players were marching with their schools and bands.  The point we wanted to make was made.
New Britain has a Travel League Program. :)

Our goal is to develop quality soccer players through superior soccer skills, higher levels of competition and greater coaching expertise.
This program is not a recreational soccer program but is a competitive environment where dedication, effort and sportsmanship are emphasized.
It is a volunteer based and a non-profit organization providing young players a competitive and rewarding soccer experience.

Soccer is a game of skill and endurance and the travel program will polish those talents for players that come from the recreational program, have a good understanding of the game and are willing to apply themselves.

The travel program is geared to the more competitive player and is more demanding for players and parents. There are normally two practices per week and one or two games per weekend. Team could also enter Tournament Play outside the scheduled league games. Most games are within a 30-45 minute drive for an away game.

Games:
There could be 5 to7 scheduled "League" games, played on Sundays, that are required for your divisions and scheduled by the CJSA organization. Your division is determined from your previous season performance.
Teams usually add "Friendly" games to their schedule which are played on Saturdays. These games are geared towards development and improvement of skills.

Practice:
Practice times are chosen by the coaches. Exact time for practice is determined at the beginning of each season. Players are required to attend every practice for the benefit of the Program as well as the Team.

Joining the Team:
Travel Teams are selected during tryouts run by coaches.  Tryouts are held in the spring and in the fall and are announced few weeks before the tryout data on the website.   You can also call and ask each coach for a tryout during the season if you think Travel Program is right for you.
